The company's history began in the last century, in 1907-1908, when the Austrian engineer and inventor Edmund Rumpler, carried away by the rapidly developing aviation, left the Daimler company and organized his own engineering bureau.

Already in 1910, the young company began licensed production of, in fact, the first, airplanes in Germany, and Edmund himself and his company developed and implemented many technical solutions that significantly influenced the aviation and automobile world industries.

The most important milestone in the life of the company was the transfer of a large batch of airplanes to the African Republic after the end of the First World War, in 1919. Several employees of Edmund's bureau, headed by his nephew Rudolf Rumpler, went to Pretoria to service and operate the aircraft.

Having taken an active part in the development of aviation in the African Republic, later South Africa, Rudolf and several of his comrades settled in Africa and organized a private company engaged in the operation, maintenance and modification of aircraft, vehicles and their components.

During the Second World War, the company's staff was replenished with many talented engineers, associates of Edmund Rumpler, who fled from persecution in Germany. In the course of more than a century of history, the company changed its name and scope of activities several times, as a result of which by the beginning of the twenty-first century it is a powerful engineering center with its own pilot industrial production and several lines producing high-tech components for the needs of the aviation and automobile industries.
